Road Trip, September 2010
Recently returned from grad school in the UK and still shaking off playa dust, I set out with Ms. Molly Greene on an expedition to visit my family’s land in the Ocate Valley of Northern New Mexico. I had not made the trek in some eight or nine years, and it proved to be a powerful experience of rediscovery. I have always maintained that New Mexico may just be our best state, and to revisit a little piece of it that is not only inexpressibly beautiful but also belongs to my family and I-truly a second home-was pretty amazing.
